Aurelie Jacquet was born in Nice and is currently a student in photography at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie in Arles. Before moving there, she had been studying the arts for a number of years, including fine art, applied art, art history; she also graduated from a BA in technique in photography, and a BA in theory of the art with a major in photography at the university of Paris 8.

Her years spent studying the fine arts has resulted in her photographs emphasizing an almost obsessive attention to detail, which is paralleled only by her unique use of color and texture to find a story and to tell this story to an audience. This story that her photographs search for looks through subtext that underlines our everyday experience, bringing to light the asymmetrical beauty that we miss during our quotidian lives.

Through this, she explores her own personal nightmares, her own phobias and anxieties, providing a cathartic output that adds a greater depth to her images.
